Quarter 1: Highlanders 24 Island Storm 27
Ta'Quan Zimmerman hits the first Highlanders basket of Season 3. The Island Storm start game with two 3-pointers and take early 9-point lead but the Highlanders catch up by end of the quarter with a Bruce Massey layup and foul.
Quarter 2: Highlanders 54 Island Storm 57
Both teams stepped up the pace to start the second quarter and the Highlanders took their first lead of the game 3 minutes in. The r eferees started calling the game very tight, with both teams picking up fouls. The Island Storm retake the lead with 4 minutes remaining and the teams trade leads for the remainder of the quarter. Jamal Reynolds ended the half with 16 points and Massey with 14. For the Storm, Russell Byrd had 19 and Sampson Carter had 17.
Quarter 3: Highlanders 90 Island Storm 87
The Island Storm extend their lead to start the second half but Highlanders go on 7-0 run to tie it up at 70. The Highlanders then take a 7 point lead, but the Storm tie it up at 87, and Highlanders finish the quarter up by 3.
Quarter 4: Highlanders 122 Island Storm 109
The Island Storm start the quarter with a 3 to tie it up. The t eams trade baskets in the early minutes, while Highlanders use their entire bench for a balanced attack. The Highlanders tight defense slowly extends a 7-point lead with 6 minutes remaining. The Highlanders have a 12 point lead with 4 minutes to go but the Island Storm cut the lead to 8 with under 3 minutes on the clock. The Highlanders play smart to work the clock and hit shots when needed to take keep the game out of reach in the final minutes.
