Game Highlights

Quarter 1: Highlanders 16, Edge 30

The Highlanders were ready to play their third game in four days with a short bench, as Aaron Redpath, Olu Famutimi, and Chris Johnson were not on the roster. Cape Breton struggled to find their offense early as the Edge were hitting 3's from every angle on the court. As the quarter went on, the Highlanders improved their offence but still found themselves down by 14.

Quarter 2: Highlanders 43, Edge 50

The second quarter was much better than the first for the Cape Breton Highlanders, mostly by playing a grit-and-grind game getting to the hoop and the freethrow line. The Highlanders did well to defend former NBA champion, Glen Davis, even with the hot shooting from the Edge. Down by as many as 16, the Highlanders were able to cut the deficit to 7 points by the end of the half. Leading the Edge in scoring was Desmond Lee with 11, and for the Highlanders it was former NBLC MVP, Devin Sweetney, with 22 first-half points.

Quarter 3: Highlanders 72, Edge 73

Cape Breton didn't lose any heat on their hands during the halftime break. The Edge and the Highlanders were both dealing with a few injuries, but the Highlanders played hard and with energy. Good team defense by the Highlanders held the Edge to only 31% from the field. The Highlanders gained momentum and found themselves down by only 1 point heading into the 4th quarter.

Quarter 4: Highlanders 92, Edge 105

The final quarter saw the Edge and Highlanders in a physical matchup. A number of fouls called and missed were challenged by players and coaches on both sides, resulting in a number of technical fouls. The Highlanders had the game within reach and briefly held a 1-point lead, but the Edge made big shots in the final minutes to take the win.
