Quarter 1: Highlanders 21, Magic 26
The game started with both teams exchanging buckets. Moncton slowly managed to create a lead as the quarter went on. Cape Breton' Landon Atterberry finished the quarter with 7 points and the Highlanders were down 5 at the end of the first.
Quarter 2: Highlanders 46, Magic 58
The Highlanders came out flat in the second quarter, being outscored 17-8 in the first 6 minutes of the period. The Highlanders trailed by 16 points at one point, but a strong final 2 minutes would give them some momentum heading into the second half. Moncton shot well, ending the half at 59%.
Quarter 3: Highlanders 71, Magic 85
The second half started with Moncton going on a 11-4 run to extend their lead. The Highlanders responded with an 11-2 run of their own to bring the game back within reach. The rest of the quarter Moncton kept their lead and would have a comfortable 14-point lead with just one quarter to play. Cape Breton's Chris Johnson had a team-leading 20 points heading into the final quarter.
Quarter 4: Highlanders 93, Magic 117
The final quarter saw Moncton add to their lead early. The Magic were able to shoot efficiently and put the game out of reach for the Highlanders. It was a tough night for Cape Breton as the bounces didn't seem to go their way. They look to get back in the win column Thursday night, when they take on the Halifax Hurricanes.
