DENVER – The general managers of both Team USA and Team Canada revealed their All-Star-laden rosters today for the Heritage Cup.

The game, to be held at Pepsi Center at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, will feature National Lacrosse League stars, including 12 members of the Colorado Mammoth, representing their countries.

"It's the best American players versus the best Canadian players in one of the best sports markets in North America," Canada general manager Johnny Mouradian said. "Our players and coaching staff will have an experience to cherish for a lifetime. Thinking of the opening faceoff sends goose bumps up our spines."

Mammoth and Team USA general manager Steve Govett, who assembled the 2002 American team that beat Canada 21-16 in the inaugural Heritage Cup match, chose nine of his own players for this year's team, including All-Star defensemen Jay Jalbert and Jamie Hanford. Mammoth players Erik Miller, Brian Langtry, Dave Stilley, Brian Reese, Josh Sims, Scott Stapleford and Jeff Sonke are also on the roster.

Other notable American players include San Jose Stealth star Mike Regan, former Syracuse University standout Ryan Powell, and gritty defenseman John Rosa of the Anaheim Storm, who earned his U.S. citizenship just last week.

"The U.S. staff believes we have an incredibly competitive roster and hope to defend our Heritage Cup victory in 2002," Govett said.

Mammoth superstars Gary Gait, Gavin Prout and Gee Nash highlight a Canadian roster full of NLL greats. In addition to Colorado's trio of All-Stars, Team Canada features 10 other players who appeared in the 2004 NLL All-Star Game at Pepsi Center, as well as 2004 NLL rookie of the year Taylor Wray of the Calgary Roughnecks.

Team Canada features Buffalo's John Tavares and Toronto's Jim Veltman, joining Gait as former NLL most valuable players, and Toronto's Colin Doyle and Blaine Manning, Rochester's John Grant Jr., and Calgary's Tracey Kelusky, joining Gait and Wray as former NLL rookies of the year.

Team USA is coached by Tony Resch. Jimmy Rogers and Mammoth coach Jamie Batley will serve as assistant coaches. Team Canada is coached by Toronto's Les Bartley. Walt Christianson, Ed Comeau and Bob McMahon will serve as assistant coaches.

The game will air on Altitude Sports and Entertainment on a tape delay at 10 p.m. Tickets for the Heritage Cup start at $5 and are on sale now. Tickets are included in all Colorado Mammoth season ticket packages and are available at the Pepsi Center box office, by phone at 303.830.TIXS, online at Ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.
