Amarillo, TX 4/8/10 - Amarillo Globe-News Assistant Sports Editor Dave Henry will join the Amarillo Venom broadcast team this Saturday night, the club announced Thursday.
Henry, who has worked for the Globe-News since 1991, joins Venom Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting Cody Eastwood for the first time this season as color commentator when the Venom take on the Corpus Christi Hammerheads this Saturday at the Amarillo Civic Center.
"Dave has a unique personality we feel the Panhandle fans can relate to," echoed Venom General Manager Joe Morgado. "His passion for sports shows in his day-to-day work, whether its football, hockey, or high school sports. If his commentary skills are as good as his writing, we're in for an enjoyable broadcast."
The University of Oklahoma graduate was an editorial writer for politics with the Globe-News from 1999-2008 before rejoining the sports department. Henry's beats include the Amarillo Venom, Amarillo Gorillas, and West Texas A&M University football.
Fans may listen to Dave Henry this Saturday beginning at 6:55pm CST on 1440 AM ESPN Radio or online via the B2 Networks.
