Henry Burris named player of the week

Calgary Stampeders quarterback Henry Burris has been named Canadian Football League offensive player of the week for his role in Calgary's 41-30 win over the Montreal Alouettes at McMahon Stadium last Friday.
Burris completed 24 of 38 passes for 408 yards and five touchdowns (to five different players) and rushed for 35 yards on five carries. His fifth touchdown pass of the night - a four-yarder to Jeremaine Copeland - moved Burris past Jeff Garcia into second place on the Stamps' all-time list for touchdown passes. Burris has delivered 107 majors as a member of the Red and White.
Burris is currently enjoying a career season and has completed 243 of 370 passes (65.3 per cent) for 3,253 yards, 23 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
This is the first time Burris has been named player of the week in 2008 and he's just the third Stamps player to get the nod. Kicker Sandro DeAngelis (special teams) and defensive end Mike Labinjo (Canadian) earned the honour in Week 9.
