Henggeler Named Weekly "Be True to Your School" Winner

BOISE, Idaho, October 11, 2010 - McCall-Donnelly High School junior varsity football coach Larry Henggeler is this week's "Be True to Your School" award winner, presented by Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires.

The following are excerpts from the nominations for Coach Henggeler, whose team has overcome on- and off-the-field obstacles under his direction, poise and leadership.

"Coach Henggeler has a great respect for all of his players. He inspires the boys to do great things in all aspects of life."

"Thanks to our positive coach and community leader, Coach Henggeler has pulled everyone together and kept us strong. Coach is the greatest and deserves to be recognized within and outside of the community; in our eyes, he's a champion."

"He encourages the boys to believe in themselves and to do their very best. Coach Henggeler has stressed to them to learn from their mistakes and not dwell on them."

Coach Henggeler will be invited to be a guest of the Idaho Stampede on Saturday, November 20, to be recognized on-court for his award. Throughout the season, coaches will be invited to be recognized at Idaho Stampede basketball games and Idaho Steelheads hockey games at Qwest Arena.

The "Be True to Your School" program allows local fans to nominate a deserving high school athletics coach for recogniztion. The winning coaches will be invited to a game at Qwest Arena to be honored and the athletics department at the winner's school will receive a $750 donation from Commerical Tire and Cooper Tires. In all, $15,000 will be donated to area schools.

To nominate a coach for the award, visit the Commerical Tire website nad click on the "Be True to Your School" logo. Fill out the nomination form and click "Submit Form." Once you've done that, your coach has officially be nominated. One winner per week will be selected through February 12, 2011.

Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires are working together with the NBA Development League'ss Idaho Stampede and the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads on the "Be True to Your School" promotion.

The Steelheads open the regular season on October 15 when they host the Victoria Salmon Kings at Qwest Arena. Ticket plans for the 2010-11 season are available right now, starting at just $275 per seat for all 36 home games during the regular season. Partial-season plans are also available.
