BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs today announced a silent auction of selected game-used jerseys and other equipment that will take place at both of this weekend's playoff games against the Arizona Sundogs at the CenturyTel Center. In addition to letting you take home your own piece of Mudbugs history, the auction will help raise the money required to the fly the ¬ËBugs to Arizona when their playoff series shifts out west!
By bidding on the game-worn jerseys, helmets and other items up for auction this weekend, you can help give the Mudbugs a competitive edge when they travel to play the Sundogs in Games 3 and 4 of their Opening Round playoff series next week. Rather than spending 24 hours on a bus during their 1,250-mile journey to Prescott Valley, Arizona, the ¬ËBugs will instead be flying in order to arrive with fresher legs for Tuesday's Game 3.
"When you're trying to win a Championship in the playoffs, you do everything you can to get an edge on your opponent," said General Manager Jason Campbell, who was named Playoff MVP of the Mudbugs' 2001 Championship team. "The Sundogs will be flying home Saturday night after Game 2, so we don't want to put our guys at a disadvantage with a long and physically draining bus ride to Arizona. We hope our fans will enjoy these unique, game-used auction items and feel even more involved in our playoff success by helping to raise the extra money we need to offset the costs associated with flying."
Up for auction this weekend will be many rare game-used items from a number of current and former Mudbugs. Among the jerseys up for auction are names like Ken Carroll, Dale Lupul, Tyrel Lucas, James DeLory and many more. Game-used helmets, sticks, pucks and "Pink in the Rink" socks will also be auctioned off.
The silent auction begins Friday night at Game 1 of the series and continues through the end of the second intermission of Saturday's Game 2. Winning bidders can then collect and pay for their items before they leave the game on Saturday, but are not required to do so. Winners who do not pick up their auction items on Saturday will be notified by phone Monday morning and have until Wednesday at 5:00 pm to collect their items.

If you have already purchased your playoff package, tickets are available for pickup throughout the week at the Mudbugs office.
