SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Central Hockey League (CHL) today announced that Mississippi RiverKings forward Ryan Held has been named the league's Oakley Three Stars Award winner for the month of March.

Held totaled the most points in the end-of-game "Three Stars of the Game" awards announced during the month. Players receive five points as a number one star, three points as number two, and one point as the number three star of the game.

Ryan was the number one star three times, number two star once, and number one star on one other occasion during games played in March, totaling 19 points. He finished fourth in the season-long race for "Three Star" honors.

In nine games played during the month, Held led the RiverKings in scoring with ten goals and 18 points. One of the ten goals scored came on the power play and three were game-winning tallies. Two goals were scored unassisted. Held also finished +5 for the month in the plus/minus statistic.

Mississippi went 6-3-0 during the month in clinching the number four spot in the CHL Northern Conference playoffs.

The nine-game streak of ten goals and 18 points at the end of the year became the longest for the entire season in the CHL.

For the season, Held was the team's leading offensive threat, pacing the team in all major statistical categories, while playing in all 64 regular season games and three playoff contests.

In his career, the London, Ontario native has scored 85 goals and has 178 points in 190 career CHL and RiverKings' games.

His 36 goals scored were the most since Chad Woolard scored 37 in the 2007-08 season and his 78 points were the most accumulated by a RiverKing since Derek Landmesser earned 81 in the 2005-06 campaign.

At the CHL level, Ryan finished the regular season tied for seventh in the league in points and was fourth in goals scored.

In winning the award, Held receives a Detonator watch from Oakley.

Season tickets are now on sale for the RiverKings' 19th season of professional hockey in the Mid-South. For more information, call the RiverKings at 662-342-1755 or go online to www.riverkings.com today!
