Missouri's Jeff Christian Wins Oakley Three Star Player of the Year Award

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League announced today that forward Jeff Christian of the Missouri Mavericks has won the Oakley Three Star Player of the Year Award for totaling 64 points during the course of the 2009-10 regular season.

In addition, Mississippi forward Ryan Held has been named the winner of the Oakley Three Star Award for the month of March/2010 totaling 19 points during the month. Christian tied for the most first star honors during the season with eight games recognized matching the totals of Colorado's Ed McGrane and Allen's Bruce Graham. Christian's 64 total points were two more than McGrane and six more than Graham for the year-end totals. The Burlington, Ontario native finished the season with 29 goals and 49 assists for 78 points.

Held wins the honor for the month of March accumulating 19 points being named the first star on three occasions, second star on one occasion and third star after one contest. The London, Ontario native used the strong month to move up to fourth place in the season-long totals. McGrane came in second place for the month accumulating 15 points.
