Omaha Beef News Release
Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football Association is pleased to announce the resigning of former University of Mary defensive MVP Chad Fetzer and the addition of hard-hitting safety Clint Brown from the Evansville BlueCats.
The 5'11 200 Fetzer is looking to make a big impact in the Beef secondary and his combination of speed, power, and intelligence will make him hard to stop. During his career at the University of Mary, Fetzer spear headed one of the nation's stingiest defenses and was a big contributor to four straight NAIA National Championship play-off appearances. "Chad gained some valuable experience with us last year and we are anticipating great things from him this season," stated Head Coach Robert Fuller. Fetzer now resides in Omaha and works as a personal trainer at the North Park 24 Hour Fitness.
Clint Brown comes to the Omaha Beef after a great rookie season with the Evansville BlueCats. The 6'2 215 safety was part of a tough BlueCat secondary and finished the season third on the team in tackles with 41 solo and 23 assists in 13 games. The former NAIA All American adjusted quickly to the indoor game last season and saw action at linebacker, safety, corner, as well as excelling on special teams. "Clint brings a lot to the table in terms of versatility and experience," stated Fuller. "Offense players always want to be aware of where he is at on the field because he will not hesitate to come up and drop the hammer on you." The Omaha Beef would like to acknowledge the professionalism of the Evansville BlueCats by allowing Clint to play closer to his home state of Colorado.
Fans are welcomed to attend the Omaha Beef "Invite only" tryouts February 4th and 5th and the Center Sports Complex located on 147th and Giles. Saturday's try-out will be from 6-8pm and Sunday's session will run from 10am to noon.
