
Greyhounds announce tryouts

Ohio Valley Greyhounds News Release
The Ohio Valley Greyhounds will be holding Football Try-Outs on Sunday February 5, 2006 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The location of the Try-outs will be at Ohio University Eastern Campus at the Ney Center. The facility is located near I-70 Exit 213 - US Route 40 just west of the exit.
The Greyhounds, one of the most successful Indoor Football teams in the nation over the past seven years, will be holding these Try-Outs looking for top-notch football talent to fill several slots on our roster for the upcoming 2006 season.
To be eligible for the Tri-Outs you must be 18 years of age or older. Participants in the Try-Outs will be tested for speed, Strength, and football skills. There is a $40.00 try-out fee which will be refunded to any player signed to a Greyhound Contract. If you wish to Try-Out, plan to arrive at the Ohio University Ney Field House at 10:15 am. If you are interested in Trying Out and would like additional information, simply call the Ohio Valley Greyhound office at 304-232-4101 Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
The Ohio Valley Greyhounds are a member of the ten team United Indoor Football League (UIF). The Franchise has earned 6 Conference Championships and 2 National titles in its first 7 years. All Home games are played in WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, WV. The teams in the United Indoor Football League include:

The Greyhounds 8th season begins Friday March 24, 2006 with an away game with the Lexington Horsemen in Lexington, Kentucky. The Ohio Valley Greyhounds Home Opener is scheduled for Sunday, April 2, 2006 at 6:30 pm at WesBanco Arena against the Evansville Bluecats from Evansville, Indiana. The Greyhound organization is also has announced that prior to all home games this year, all game ticket holders will be welcome Free of Charge to attend our pre-game Tail Gate Parties which will begin in the afternoon prior to each game at WesBanco Arena. These great parties will feature activities for the entire family including top-notch, live entertainment from around the region, a pre-game pep rally, fun play activities for the kids, face painting for adults & children, photo-ops with Blitz the Mascot and other special guests, and lots of unannounced prizes and surprises. Also, during the Tail Gate Party, a unique menu of tailgate food and beverages will be available for purchase to all those attending.
New season tickets are now on sale for all 7 home games and may be purchased by check, money order, or credit card. Season tickets may be purchased at the following locations: Wesbanco Arena Box Office - 2 Fourteenth Street - Wheeling, WV (304) 233-4470; the Ohio Valley Greyhounds Office - 1310 Market Street - Wheeling, WV (304) 232-4101 and coming soon is the Greyhounds Ticket Sales & Merchandise Kiosk in the Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
