Heaves Finish Regular Season 14-6

Quebec City, QBC - The Vermont Frost Heaves defeated the Quebec Kebekwa 120-77. The Frost Heaves finish their first Premier Basketball League Season with a regular season record of 14-6 and will face Wilmington in a Wild Card game.

John Williams opened the scoring with a 3 pointer and except for a 1st quarter spurt by the Kebs to take a 16-13 lead, the Frost Heaves never trailed in the game. After the Kebs quick run, Vermont came back to tie the game on a 3 pointer by John Smith and held a 25-18 lead at the end of one quarter.

The Kebs got within one point to start the second quarter but John Williams sank a 3 pointer to send the Frost Heaves on a 15 point run and the first half ended with Vermont holding a commanding 62-35 lead.

The second half was much of the same with Vermont controlling the tempo and the scoring, as they held Quebec to only 15 points for the quarter. The 3rd quarter ended with Vermont up 95-50. Quebec did manage to outscore Vermont in the 4th quarter 27-25 for the final score of 120-77.

Vermont had 6 players in double figures, led by John Williams with 25 points on 8-11 shooting (5-8 3 pointers) and Benson Callier with 20 points and 9 rebounds. The Frost Heaves outrebounded the Kebs 58-44 for the game and shot 54% from beyond the arc and 53% overall for the game.

The Kebs and Frost Heaves will face each other one more time in the final matchup of the Champlain Cup series tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in Quebec.

With Wilmington defeating Detroit tonight in Detroit, The Frost Heaves will travel to Wilmington to face the Sea Dawgs in a one-game play in tentatively scheduled for April 1, in Wilmington, NC.
