Harrisburg Heat News Release

The Harrisburg Heat went 0-2 in a pair of road games last weekend, dropping to 12-19 overall and remaining in fourth place in the MISL's Eastern Conference, one game behind third-place Baltimore. Harrisburg still has five games remaining on its 2002-03 schedule, and it is still mathematically possible that the Heat could finish as high as second place in the Conference.

In Cleveland on Friday night, the Heat fell 16-8 to the Cleveland Force. A late 8-0 run by the Force proved the Heat's undoing. Neil Gilbert, Ato Leone, David Bascome, and Marco Coria scored the Heat goals, and Chris Damico saved 12 of 19 shots in goal for the loss. Bascome's goal gave him 907 career points, and moved him into 16th place on the League's all-time scoring list. With the loss, the Heat fell to 2-3 against the Force this season.

And on Sunday afternoon, Don D'Ambra's 2pg with 11 seconds remaining in regulation sent the Heat to a 7-6 loss to the Philadelphia KiXX at the First Union Spectrum. Ze Roberto, Kevin Burk, and Chris Morman scored the Heat's goals, and Damico (13 saves) again took the loss. Harrisburg has now lost six games to the KiXX this season by a total of 13 points. Defender Genoni Martinez blocked one shot in the contest, giving him 78 on the season and tying Chris Morman's single-season franchise record, set in 2000-01..
