The Harrisburg Heat went 2-0 in a pair of road games last week to improve to move back into third place in the MISL's Eastern Conference, percentage points ahead of last-place Baltimore and one game behind second-place Cleveland..

On Thursday night in San Diego, the Heat exploded for 17 second-half points en route to a 21-10 victory over the San Diego Sockers. The 21 points scored by the Heat is a season high, and the first time since March 23, 2002 (near the end of last season) that the club had cracked the 20-point barrier in a contest. The win was Harrisburg's first on the road since a 9-8 victory over Baltimore on October 26. Ato Leone and Mike Henning both scored a pair of goals for the Heat, and Raul Salas got his first win in a Heat uniform with eight saves in goal. Harrisburg also received goals from Genoni Martinez, Matt Tanzini, Marco Coria, Kevin Burk, and David Bascome in the win.

The Heat ended a nine-game losing streak against Kansas City with a 13-6 win over the Comets on Saturday night at Kemper Arena. Henning and Tanzini completed productive weeks with two goals apiece, and Chris Damico made 12 saves in goal for his 100th career victory. Bascome joined Damico in celebrating a personal milestone on Saturday: with a third-quarter 2pg, Bascome scored his 900th career point (read on for more).

MILESTONE MENTION:

Three Heaters celebrated personal milestones during a perfect 2-0 week for the team, beginning with Mike Henning: the 28-year-old swingman scored a pair of goals in Thursday's win over San Diego, giving him 200 career points.. Henning, who entered Thursday night with two goals and five points on the season, bagged four goals and eight points to lead the team in scoring last week.

Saturday night proved momentous for David Bascome and Chris Damico. With a third-quarter 2pg, Bascome became the 17th man in League history to score 900 career points. The 33-year-old has now scored 901 points, four behind Matt Knowles (905).

And with 12 saves against his former team, Damico became the 11th keeper in League history to win 100 games. Former Heat keeper Doug Petras became the 10th man in MISL history to reach the century mark earlier this season.

THIS WEEK FOR THE HEAT:

Saturday, February 15, Milwaukee Wave, Bradley Center, 9:05 p.m. EST

The Heat will continue its current six-game road trip this Saturday with a game at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. Kickoff against the Western Conference-leading Wave is 9:05 p.m. Eastern.

Harrisburg is 0-2 this season against the Wave (22-5), having lost by scores of 19-13 (in Milwaukee on January 11) and 15-6 (at the Farm Show on January 31). Including those two losses, the Heat has now dropped 10 consecutive games to Milwaukee, a streak that began on October 26, 2001.
