Harrisburg Heat News Release
Heat rookie midfielder Horacio Robledo made his first MISL goal a memorable one indeed, as the 23-year nailed a three-pointer at the 12:46 mark of the fourth to pull Harrisburg past the archrival Baltimore Blast by the score of 9-8 on Saturday night. Robledo's trey came with Martin Hernandez on as the sixth attacker. Doug Petras got the start in net, finishing with 13 saves on 17 shots and lowering his PAA to 8.73 on the season. Harrisburg completes its season-opening four-game road trip at 2-2 with the victory.
As has become true Heat style, the club found itself down early, trailing 4-2 after one, 6-2 at halftime, and 8-4 heading into the fourth. Chris Morman's 2pg at 10:57of the final quarter brought the Heat to within two at 8-6, setting the stage for Robledo's vicious 3pg off a deflected Genoni Martinez shot.
Renato Pereira scored a pair of 2pgs for Harrisburg, and Martinez finished the night with three assists.
THIS WEEK FOR THE HEAT:
Saturday, November 2, Farm Show Arena, Dallas Sidekicks, 7:35 p.m.
Sunday, November 3, Farm Show Arena, Philadelphia KiXX, 6:05 p.m.
The road trip is over - now it's time for the Heat to open its 2002-03 home schedule. This Saturday, November 2, the Heat hosts the Dallas Sidekicks at the Farm Show Arena for a 7:35 p.m. kickoff. And on Sunday, November 3, Harrisburg welcomes the defending champion Philadelphia KiXX at 6:05 p.m.
This Saturday, a limited number of Heat fans will receive a Flashlight Keychain, courtesy of Capital Blue Cross. And on Sunday, schedule magnets will be distributed to a limited number of fans, courtesy of Shollenberger & Januzzi.
These two games mark the beginning of a four-game homestand for the Heat, which remains the only team in the league to not play a home game yet in '02-03.
HOME SWEET HOME:
As noted above, this weekend marks the beginning of a four-game homestand for the Heat. The stand continues next weekend with games against the Baltimore Blast (Saturday, November 9, 7:35 p.m.) and the Kansas City Comets (Sunday, November 10, 6:05 p.m.).
In fact, the Heat should become fairly accustomed to home cooking: Harrisburg will play twelve of its next sixteen games (through the beginning of January) in the friendly confines of the Farm Show Arena.
SECOND-HALF SURGE:
The Heat continues to reap the benefits of Erich Geyer's fitness-oriented training sessions. Harrisburg has scored only two first-half points in each of its four games this year, and has been outscored 23-8 overall in the first two quarters of games in '02-03. The Heat typically dominates the third and fourth quarters, however, as Harrisburg has outscored its opposition 34-19 in the second half.
