Kansas City Comets News Release

The Kansas City Comets started their annual November road trip this past weekend, splitting the results 1-1. The Comets are currently 1-4 on the season.

Kansas City got its first win of the year on Friday night, as Paolo Ceccarelli in goal and Nate Houser up front led the Comets past the Baltimore Blast, 17-12. Kansas City held a slim lead throughout most of the game, and were tied with the Blast twice. The Comets pulled away for good at the end of the third quarter, however, as Nate Houser scored two consecutive goals, to put KC up by four going into the fourth. Houser would end the evening with three goals and an assist, for seven total points. Ceccarelli, making only his second start of the season for the Comets, stopped 34 of 40 shots faced to keep KC on top.

The City of Brotherly Love wasn't as friendly to the Comets, as they were defeated by the Philadelphia Kixx on Saturday, 18-10. Nate Houser started the scoring for the Comets, before a defensive breakdown allowed the Kixx to score 10 unanswered points through the first half. Casey Barton and Dino Delevski combined for three straight goals, to bring the Comets back within two, before Philly shut the door for good, scoring two goals for five points to give the Kixx a seven-point lead going into the fourth.
