
Heat Kick off 2022-23 Season at Home Saturday Night

Harrisburg Heat News Release
The Harrisburg Heat open their 2022/2023 Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) season on Saturday, December 10th at the Equine Arena within the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. Game time is 7:05 PM versus Utica City FC. The same two teams then travel to Utica for a rematch on Sunday. Game time on Sunday is 3:00 PM. Both games can be viewed on-line at masltv.com.
The Harrisburg Heat return their top three scorers from last year in Dominic Francis, Malcolm Harris and David Mellor. Heat captain and midfielder Danny DiPrima also returns to the Heat. In addition, the Heat has an experienced defensive core in Elton de Oliveira, Matt Braem, Stephen Basso, Brad Kerstetter and Robbie Williamson. Francis and de Oliveira are former league all-stars and Basso is a former MASL Defender of the Year.
Andrew Hoxie was a key off-season free agent acquisition. Hoxie won three MASL championships while playing for the Baltimore Blast. Hoxie finished last season with Utica City FC.
Goalkeeper William Banahene signed with the Milwaukee Wave in the off-season. The Heat return Darian McCauley in the nets, together with acquiring Chase Vosvick in free agency and Grant Glorioso through the MASL combine. Vosvick played professionally outdoors with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the USL. Vosvick was the four-time Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year while playing at Loyola University in Maryland. Glorioso played college soccer at Gardner-Webb University and Robert Morris University.
The Heat continue to wait for visa approvals for Daniel Villela, Yuri Farkas, James Vaughan and Ricardo John.
Utica City FC are currently 0-1 after a close 8-7 away loss to the Baltimore Blast on Saturday, December 3rd. Utica returns their top two scorers from last year in Joey Tavarnese and Nate Bourdeau, along with their captain Bo Jelovac. Utica City FC is led by a new coach this season, Hewerton Moreira. Moreira is the former head coach of the St. Louis Ambush.
