Sussex Skyhawks News Release

Augusta, NJ - June 11, 2010 - The Skyhawks and Jackals will meet for the second time this season in a three-game set at Century Link Field at Skylands Park. Righty Dan Berlind is set to throw tomorrow for Sussex against New Jersey's lefty starter Ryan Lobban with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM. Other probable pitching matchups for this series include Hawks' ace Jeff Icenogle (LHP) taking on Jackals' righty Chris Allen on Saturday at 2:05 PM and Sussex's Jusef Frias (RHP) against New Jersey's A.J. Wideman (LHP).

The last time Sussex and New Jersey competed, the Skyhawks won the series three games to one. Hawks infielder Chase Fontaine led his team to an opening night victory by delivering two doubles and three RBIs as LHP Jeff Icenogle knotted his first win of the season and veteran Duaner Sanchez earned a save. New Jersey took game two with a score of 10-9 after an offensive tug-of-war that lasted for four hours and saw nineteen batters cross the plate. After overcoming a three run deficit in game three and defeating the Jackals in walk-off fashion thanks to Carl Loadenthal's RBI single, the Skyhawks bounced back to win the series 3-1.

After losing two straight the Brockton Rox earlier this week, the Skyhawks are looking to get back on track this weekend against the Jackals. Sussex has dropped to 4th place in the standings while New Jersey's current win streak is four games, lifting the Jackals to second place behind the Quebec Les Capitales.
