Hawks Pledge to Recognize Health Care Pros Throughout 2020/21
Waterloo, Iowa - The Waterloo Black Hawks and Budweiser will honor the doctors, nurses, and others on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic by featuring a "Budweiser Healthcare Professional of the Game" during each 2020/21 home contest at Young Arena.
The Black Hawks and local Budweiser distributor Fahr Beverage announced the partnership Tuesday, as Iowans and people around the world gain a greater appreciation for the dedication of those working in medical fields each day.
"It is our honor to recognize all those who have worked so hard through these incredibly difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is our hope that this gesture to a few will reflect the thanks and gratitude we have for ALL of the people on the front lines of health care. We can't thank them enough. This Bud's for you!" said Terry Timmerman, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Fahr Beverage.
Beginning in late summer, Black Hawks fans will be encouraged to submit nominations for the Budweiser Health Care Professional of the Game through waterlooblackhawks.com. In the meantime, share your stories of health workers going above-and-beyond via social media and tag the Black Hawks, as well as including #CVHealthCareHeroes. Those chosen for the game night honor will receive four Hawks tickets and a certificate for four Budweiser products redeemable that night. During a stoppage in play, the Budweiser Heath Care Professional of the Game will be spotlighted on Young Arena's video scoreboard.
"These last several weeks are a time which is unique in all of our lives," said Black Hawks President of Business Operations Joe Greene. "I would like to thank Fahr Beverage for their support as we try to give long-lasting thanks to the doctors, nurses, technicians and many others who will make it possible for us to get back to all the things we love doing."
In addition to the new Budweiser Health Care Professional of the Game effort, the Black Hawks and Budweiser will offer a free ticket voucher to all medical workers for one designated game on Waterloo's 2020/21 schedule. More details about these vouchers will be announced after the 2020/21 United States Hockey League slate is revealed in the coming months.
