Hawks Have All-USHL Hat Trick

Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - A trio Waterloo Black Hawks has been selected by United States Hockey League coaches and general managers for the All-USHL First Team, which was revealed Wednesday by the league.
Defenseman Ian McCoshen and forwards Taylor Cammarata and Justin Kloos were recognized. The awards mark the first time three Black Hawks have ever been chosen for the league's honorary First Team in the same season. The organization has not even had two First Team All-USHL selections in one campaign since forward Jason Blake and goaltender Terry Jarkowsky were chosen in 1993/94.
"Individually, Ian, Taylor, and Justin each had great years, and the organization is proud to have been part of their development," said Waterloo Head Coach P.K. O'Handley. "I'm sure Taylor and Justin would agree that their personal success was aided greatly by their linemate, Zach Stepan, who had a remarkable year in his own right as well."
Cammarata, Kloos, and Stepan finished first, second, and third in league scoring respectively.
Last week, Cammarata was awarded the league's Player of the Year and Forward of the Year titles. His 93 points were the most by a Waterloo skater since Blake reached 100 in 1993/94. During a two-year career with the Black Hawks, the University of Minnesota recruit amassed 65 goals and 97 assists, pushing him to second in scoring during the more than 30 years that the Waterloo club has been a junior hockey franchise.
Kloos will join his linemate at Minnesota next winter. During his lone full season with the Black Hawks, the former Minnesota High School Mr. Hockey Award winner led the USHL in assists with 58. It was the highest total in one year since Tom Bissett set the single-season franchise record in 1984/85. Adding 29 goals, Kloos completed the 2012/13 campaign with 87 points.
McCoshen's third season in Waterloo was his best statistically. He built up a plus/minus rating of +35, which ranked 6th in the USHL. McCoshen's 44 points made him the second leading scorer among defensemen and far surpassed the 26 he accumulated during his first two years as a Black Hawk combined. In November, he committed to play NCAA hockey at Boston College next year.
First Team All-USHL honors are the latest accomplishments Cammarata, Kloos, and McCoshen can add to their resumes as they prepare for the NHL Draft next month. NHL Central Scouting noted all three as draft candidates in its final rankings released last month, led by McCoshen, who was slotted as the 24th-best North American prospect.
