Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release

MUSKEGON, Michigan - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are proud to announce that Goaltender Kevin Lindskoug and Defenseman Michael Brodzinski have been honored as two of 14 players named to the 2012-13 All-USHL Teams.

Kevin Lindskoug, the Trelleborg, Sweden native, was the lone net minder named to the All-USHL First Team in which he led the USHL with eight shutouts and a .923 save percentage. Lindskoug also posted a 2.49 goals-average which finished tied for second in the league, and his 23 regular season victories put him sixth among all USHL goaltenders.

This past season, Lindskoug claimed the league's "Goaltender of the Week" honors on three separate occasions and was also the recipient of the USHL's "Goaltender of the Year" honors last week. Lindskoug recently signed a professional deal to return home to play for Rögle BK of the Allsvenskan Swedish League.

Michael Brodzinski, the Blaine, Minnesota native, was one of two defensemen named to the All-USHL Second Team in which he totaled 33 points (16 goals and 17 assists) to go along with a plus-10 rating in 62 regular season games with the Lumberjacks. The 16 goals he tallied led all USHL defensemen with nine of them coming on the power play. The nine power play goals ranked him second among all league defensemen, and his 33 points put him in a tie for sixth among all blue liners.

Brodzinski was also named as the USHL's "Defenseman of the Week" twice this past season and was one of four Lumberjacks selected to compete in the 2013 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Muskegon this past January. Also this week, Brodzinski was named to the 2012-13 USHL All-Rookie Team.

Brodzinski has a commitment to play his hockey collegiately for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers out of the newly-formed Big Ten Conference.
