Boise Hawks News Release
Scoring a season high 16 runs, the Boise Hawks ran their win streak to four games with a 16-5 victory over the Everett AquaSox before 3,255 fans at Memorial Stadium.
The Hawks have now won ten of their last 11 games overall, including their last eight games at home.
After spotting Everett a 2-0 lead in the first, the Hawks scored three in the second, capped by a Josh Harrison RBI single to take the lead for good. Boise would add five in the third - including an RBI double from Drew Rundle and an RBI triple from Ryan Sontag to make it 8-1.
The Frogs would close to 9-5 in the fifth on a Manelik Pimentel sacrifice fly, but Chris Carpenter would get the final two outs in the inning to end the threat. The third-round pick out of Kent State would throw three and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief to notch his first win of the season.
The Hawks would blow the game open in the sixth, scoring seven runs - thanks to a trio of Everett errors. Michael Brenly had a two-run double and Marwin Gonzalez had a two-run single in the frame.
Kyler Burke went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in the win, with Brenly adding his third three-hit game of the season, and Sontag knocking in three.
Boise goes for the series sweep tomorrow night, with Josh Whitlock meeting Bobby Lafromboise at 7:15 p.m.
