HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc swept a pair of home games beating the Bloomington Thunder 4-2 on Friday and the Fayetteville FireAntz 5-3 on Saturday.

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc took the lead against the Bloomington Thunder in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 4-2 victory.
Huntsville took over the lead for good with a goal by Justin Cseter at 1:27 in the first period. A hooking penalty on Paul DAgostino had put the Havoc on the power play. Dominic Osman provided the assist.
Huntsville was led by Eric Alexander, who finished with one goal. Alexander scored 8:56 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Huntsville.
In the losing effort, Bloomington was led by Mike Henderson, who registered two goals. Henderson scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Huntsville. The Thunder earned a power play opportunity when Brock Sawyer was put in the box for high sticking. Nic Polaski assisted on the tally. Henderson's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Huntsville with 1:00 left in the third period. Travis Granbois picked up the assist.
With 39 shots on target during the contest, the Havoc exceeded the 26.7 shots they average per game this year.
Huntsville also got points from Nick Lazorko, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Huntsville also got a goal from Ray Ortiz as well. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Leland Fidler, who had one.
Bloomington's offense was clicking better than usual and put 28 shots on goal during the game, better than the 18.3 shots per game it averages. The Thunder were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 26 penalty minutes.
Kevin Genoe rejected 26 shots on goal for Huntsville. The Havoc totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. For Huntsville, Ortiz was ejected from the game. BJ OBrien recorded 35 saves for Bloomington. The Thunder registered two goals on four power play opportunities.
Saturday, March 1 - Fayetteville 3, Huntsville 5
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc gutted out a close 5-3 win against the Fayetteville FireAntz.
No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Josh Harris at 4:09 of the third period.
Harris had a great game for Huntsville, netting two goals.
Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:45 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.
Both goalies were tossed from the game during the major incident in the third period.
The Havoc racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with five minors and four majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game Huntsville had been spending in the box. The Havoc excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. With 40 shots on target during the contest, Huntsville exceeded the 26.7 shots it averages per game this year.
Others who scored for Huntsville included Stuart Stefan, Dominic Osman, and Paul Kurceba, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Nick Lazorko, who had two, Justin Cseter, who had three, and Leland Fidler, Ray Ortiz, and Scott Harff, who each chipped in one.
Fayetteville was often in penalty trouble, totaling four minors and four majors for 38 minutes in penalty time. The FireAntz had been averaging 19.0 minutes in penalties per game. Fayetteville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as John Clewlow, Kyle McNeil and Kory Helowka took 13 of the team's 23 shots.
Fayetteville additionally got points from Derek Elliott, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Fayetteville received assists from Zach Carriveau and Matt Smyth, who contributed one a piece.
Kevin Genoe recorded 19 saves for the Havoc. Huntsville registered one goal on three power play opportunities. The Havoc ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Genoe was ejected from the game. The FireAntz's Peter Skoggard stopped 35 shots out of the 40 that he faced. For Fayetteville, Skoggard was ejected from the game.
