HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach, John Gibson, announced today that the team has signed goalie Brian Gratz. Adam MacLean was released.

"The way the league rules are set up, waving Adam and signing Brain is the only way to get a good look at another goaltender," Gibson said. "I am just looking for a little more consistency from the number two goalie spot."

Gratz (6-0, 220) played collegiate hockey at Penn State University from 1999-2004, where he was a first-team All-American, the Northeast Player of the Year and the National Player of the Year Finalist in 2002-03. He played in 80 games and won 48 games, lost 19 and tied three. He has a career 1.90 goal against average and a 93.6 save percentage. He served as the back-up goalie for the Johnston Chiefs of the ECHL at the end of last season and went to camp with the Quad City Mallards of the UHL this season. He has been serving as the emergency goalie for the Reading Royals of the ECHL.

MacLean had played in four games for the Havoc and had a 1-3 record. He had allowed 15 goals and had a 3.85 goal against average and an 88.2 save percentage.

The Havoc will travel to Columbus, Jacksonville and Macon this weekend.
