HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc lost on the road in Columbus on Friday in the only game played this week. The team took a 4-3 lead into the final period before giving up three goals and falling 6-4.

COLUMBUS, GA - Preston Shupe lifted the Columbus Cottonmouths to a 6-4 victory with a hat trick against the Huntsville Havoc.
Shupe notched his first tally 15:05 into the second period. He then added goals at 11:19 into the third and at 18:58 into the third.
Columbus excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Cottonmouths outdid their season average for goals scored. Columbus averages 3.1 goals per game. The Cottonmouths put 46 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.8 they average per game.
Columbus additionally got points from Neilsson Arcibal, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Jason Gray, who also had one goal and one assist, and Sam Bowles, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Columbus came via Tory Allan, who had two and Tom Maldonado, Andy Willigar, and Jordan Draper, who contributed one a piece.
Huntsville's offense rang up 43 shots on Columbus' net.
The Havoc were helped by Eric Alexander, who finished with one goal and one assist. Alexander scored 15:18 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Stuart Stefan assisted on the tally. Huntsville also got points from Nick Lazorko, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Huntsville included Justin Cseter and Ray Ortiz, who scored one goal each. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Mike Gurtler and Josh Harris, who each chipped in one.
Andrew Loewen made 39 saves for the Cottonmouths on 43 shots. Columbus incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Huntsville's Kevin Genoe stopped 40 shots out of the 46 that he faced. The Havoc incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
