
Havoc Drops Two of Three to FireAntz

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc lost two of three games to the Fayetteville FireAntz last week, winning at home on Tuesday before falling in Fayetteville on Friday and Saturday.
Tuesday, December 28 - Fayetteville 1, Huntsville 2
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Dan McWhinney made 33 and only allowed one questionable goal as the Huntsville Havoc skated off with a 2-1 win over the Fayetteville FireAntz.
Ryan Kretzer put the Havoc on the board early with a rocket from between the circles at the 2:14 mark of the first period.
Kyle Laughlin added a powerplay goal with 9:57 to go in the second and the Havoc had a 2-0 lead after two periods of play.
D.J. Fimiani scored the only goal for the FireAntz with 16:57 left in the game.
Mike Carter, Glenn Detulleo, Shaun Arvai and Ray Ortiz all had one assist each for Huntsville. Travis Yonkman made 28 saves in the loss.
Friday, December 31 - Huntsville 2, Fayetteville 4
FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Chis Leveille scored two goals for the Fayetteville FireAntz as they doubled up the Huntsville Havoc 4-2 Friday night.
Robert Sich scored a powerplay goal in the first period and the FireAntz had a 1-0 lead after one period of play.
Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn scored with 4:47 gone in the second and Leveille scored on a penalty shot with 8:28 to go in the second. Kyle Laughlin got the Havoc on the board with 4:21 left and Fayetteville had a 3-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
Mike Carter cut the lead to 3-2 with 3:03 to go in the game before Leveille added an empty-net goal with :43 left to seal the win.
Dan McWhinney allowed three goals and made 23 saves in the loss, while Travis Yonkman made 41 saves in the loss.
Saturday, January 1 - Huntsville 3, Fayetteville 5
FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Huntsville Havoc lost their second straight game to the Fayetteville FireAntz, this one a 5-3 setback Saturday night.
Anthony Perdicaro scored two goals for Fayetteville while Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn, Jeffrey Borrows and Jordan Behler all scored one each.
Mike MacDonald, Mike Carter and Brett Needham scored for the Havoc.
Dan McWhinney started and played 33 minutes. He allowed four goals and made 10 saves in the loss. Mark Sibbald allowed one goal and made 15 saves in relief. Travis Yonkman made 51 saves in the win as the Havoc outshot Fayetteville 54-26.
