Hartzell named USHL Goaltender of the Week

Stampede netminder Eric Hartzell has been named Stauber's Goalcrease USHL "Goaltender-of-the-Week" for the second straight week.

The White Bear Lake, MN native stopped 61 of 63 shots in two victories for the Herd last week. Hartzell stopped 31 of 32 shots in Friday's win at Lincoln and 30 of 31 shots in Saturday's win versus Tri-City. Hartzell is 4-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and a .965 save percentage in his last four starts.

Hartzell is 12-12-2 with a 3.07 GAA and a .905 save percentage on the season. He is second in the USHL in total saves with 753 and third in the league in total minutes played (1543:41).

This marks the third time this season Hartzell has taken home the award. He won the award last week and on November 24th. He holds Stampede records for most shutouts in a season (5) and consecutive minutes played without allowing a goal (201:06), both set last season.

Hartzell and the Stampede return to action this Wednesday night when they play host to the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7:05 PM. The Stampede close out their three-game homestand Friday night when they entertain Waterloo at the Sioux Falls Arena.
