Hartford Colonials Sign NFL Veteran Safety

EAST HARTFORD, CT - June 9, 2011 - The Hartford Colonials signed veteran safety John Busing to a contract for the 2011 United Football League season. Terms were not disclosed.

Busing has spent the last five years in the NFL, appearing in 43 games with the Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans. He was originally signed by the Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent out of Miami (OH) in 2006 and played in 27 games with the Bengals, registering 25 tackles.

In 2009 Busing played 16 games (four starts) with the Houston Texans, registering 32 combined tackles with one interception. He signed with the Giants on July 31 last year and was released on Sept. 4.
