Hartford Athletic News Release
HARTFORD, Conn. - Hartford Athletic has partnered with Global Football Group (GFG) to advise on the construction of its first team roster, player development and academy strategy, and technical aspects of soccer operations. The partnership is GFG's first in the USL and will be exclusive to Hartford Athletic. Through its proven model and analytical processes, GFG will support Hartford Athletic technical staff with supplemental scouting and analysis, as it has for top division clubs around the world, to implement winning strategies and identify top talent to compete for championships.
"We are thrilled to bring on GFG as a partner of Hartford Athletic to supplement our soccer operations and produce a winning club," said Hartford Athletic Chairman Bruce Mandell. "Working together with our technical staff, GFG will help us implement player identification processes that will allow us to compete for championships each year and give our fans a team that proudly represents our community."
Established in 2015 by new Hartford Athletic CEO Nick Sakiewicz, GFG has advised top clubs across the English Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Portuguese Primeira Liga and more. GFG's proprietary technology and player identification tools will broaden Hartford Athletic's access to top talent around the world.
"I have hit the ground running in my first week with Hartford Athletic, and we are working hard to improve every aspect of the club and fan experience. Building Hartford Athletic into a winner is our top priority, and GFG provides the perfect partner to help us achieve this goal," said Hartford Athletic CEO Nick Sakiewicz. "GFG will help our technical staff to identify talent through cutting edge scouting and analytics resources and to develop our players from the academy all the way up to the first team. We are working around the clock to deliver a team that our fans and supporters will be proud of and are so thankful for everyone's continued support despite such a challenging year on the field. I continue to be so impressed by what we have here in Hartford, and we need everyone to be part of the comeback."
GFG has developed its proprietary processes through its relationships with some of the top soccer minds in the world and will bring this expertise to Hartford.
"GFG is excited to partner with Hartford Athletic to help take the club to new heights," said GFG CEO David Goldstein. "With committed ownership, a talented front office, and an incredible fanbase and supporters culture, Hartford Athletic has already proven that it is a top USL club in a soccer hotbed, and we look forward to lending our expertise to help the club become a consistent contender on the pitch."
