Harrisburg Heat News Release

HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 2, 2013 - The Heat used three goals from Tom Mellor and a tiebreaking goal by Danny Thompson late in the fourth quarter to rally past the Cincinnati Saints 8-6 on Saturday at the Equine Arena in the State Farm Show Complex & Expo Center.

The victory was the first for the Heat (2-3) since opening their second season in the Professional Arena Soccer League with an 8-7 overtime win at Detroit on Nov. 9.

The three-goal game by Mellor was the Heat's third in as many games by one player and the fourth time the forward from Manchester, England, has scored three or more goals in a game in his season-plus with Harrisburg.

Thompson's goal with 3:21 remaining in the game snapped a 6-6 tie and capped a run in which the Heat scored three goals in a span of just over five minutes of the fourth quarter to turn a 6-4 deficit into a 7-6 lead.

The point was the first of the season for Thompson, a midfielder out of Messiah College.

Defender Zach Sell clinched the victory on a short-handed goal with 11.4 seconds remaining, while Cincinnati (2-3) was using a sixth attacker.

The Heat next play on Saturday, Dec. 14, against ReAL Harrisburg FC in an Open Cup match at the Equine Arena. Kickoff is 7:05 p.m.

GOODBYE FOR DUBAI

The Heat announced today that rookie defender David Qaisi has left the team to accept a job with Delmon International in Dubai of the Arab United Emirates. In addition to playing for the Heat, Qaisi was an assistant coach for the varsity boys' soccer team at Conestoga Valley. Qaisi played sparingly in his final game with the Heat on Saturday. He is scheduled to join Delmon International, an energy, technology and communications conglomerate, on Dec. 12.
