Harrisburg Heat News Release

HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 2, 2013 - First-year defender David Qaisi has left the Harrisburg Heat to accept a job in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates, the team announced today.

Qaisi, a 22-year-old graduate of Conestoga Valley High School and Lock Haven University, had appeared in four of five games for the Heat (2-3), but did not register any points or blocked shots.

In addition to playing for the Heat, Qaisi was an assistant coach for the varsity boys' soccer team at Conestoga Valley.

Qaisi played sparingly in his final game with the Heat, an 8-6 home victory over Cincinnati on Saturday. He is scheduled to join Delmon International, an energy, technology and communications conglomerate, on Dec. 12.

His departure leaves the Heat with 16 players on their roster, although two of those players - forwards Lester Felician (right hand) and Mitchell Walters (left knee) - are sidelined with injuries.

The Heat, in the midst of a two-week break between games, expect to sign a player to replace Qaisi before Dec. 14, when they play host to ReAL Harrisburg FC in a non-league, Open Cup match at the Equine Arena in the State Farm Show Complex & Expo Center.
