Worcester Bravehearts News Release

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, MAINE - Despite digging themselves in a hole for the second consecutive game, the Worcester Bravehearts surged back from an 8-2 deficit after four innings for a high-scoring 13-11 win against the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide on June 28 at The Ball Park in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Both starters had outings to forget, as Worcester pitcher Logan Fullmer threw only three innings after allowing seven earned runs on eight hits. Old Orchard Beach starter Zach Kirby also struggled, as he surrendered six earned runs and five walks but only allowed three hits.

In the fifth inning, the Bravehearts closed the gap on a RBI single from infielder Dylan Harris, a sacrifice fly by outfielder Nate Pajka and a 2-RBI double by designated hitter Brady Burns.

Harris wasn't finished, as he gave Worcester a 9-8 lead with a three-run home run in the sixth inning. Harris finished 4-6 at the plate with six RBI and was a triple short of hitting for the cycle, while Burns was 2-4 on the night.

Though the Bravehearts relinquished the lead with two runs allowed in the sixth, the squad added three more runs in the seventh inning with an RBI single by outfielder Ian Strom, a passed ball by the Raging Tide and an RBI double by Harris. Both teams combined for 25 hits in the game and 19 runners left on base.

Holy Cross pitcher and Bravehearts reliever Sean Gustin helped seal the victory in the seventh inning, as he pitched 2.2 scoreless innings to improve to 2-0 this season. Gustin struck out three and only allowed one walk.

The Bravehearts will take on the North Shore Navigators at 1:30 p.m. June 29 at Fraser Field in Lynn, Mass.
