Mobile BayBears News Release
Mobile, Ala. â The Mobile BayBears are hosting an over-night campout for the Mobile Area Council Boy Scouts of America Friday, May 30th. The Council represents Mobile, Baldwin, Clarke, and Washington counties. Over 1,000 Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and volunteers will be camping out on the field at Hank Aaron Stadium.
The Boy Scouts will also be presenting the colors and leading the Pledge of Allegiance prior to Friday night's BayBears' game against the Chattanooga Lookouts.
"We are looking forward to a great night at Hank Aaron Stadium," said Steve Pickering, the finance director for the Council. "We always appreciate everything the BayBears have done for us through the years."
"We are excited about this new adventure here at Hank Aaron Stadium," BayBears President and General Manager Bill Shanahan said. "We are always looking for new ways to get out into the community. What is more American than mom, apple pie, baseball, and the Boy Scouts?"
The BayBears have announced that Friday night's game is nearing a sellout as there are fewer than 1,000 tickets remaining.
