Springfield Cardinals News Release
For the fourth year in a row, Hammons Field in downtown Springfield will be transformed into a place of worship for all denominations on Easter Sunday. On Sunday, April 12, the gates at Hammons Field will open at 6:20 a.m. with the Greater Springfield Sunrise Service beginning at 6:40 a.m.
Volunteers from several area churches and the staff at Hammons Field have joined together to offer this community-wide event that includes music, testimonials, prayer and worship. "We are proud to be a part of this special event and happy that Hammons Field can be used in such a unique way on Easter Sunday," says Kirk Elmquist, Springfield Cardinals Vice President of Sales/Marketing.
The Greater Springfield Easter Sunrise Service is open to anyone who wants to celebrate the resurrection of Christ in a beautiful outdoor setting at sunrise. This service will be held rain or shine.
For more information, contact Marilyn Raines at (417) 882-3222. We hope to see you at Hammons Field on Sunday, April 12th!
