
Hammerheads Finish with a Doubleheader Sweep

JUPITER, FL- The Jupiter Hammerheads (33-37) swept the Fort Myers Miracle (37-32) in today's double header at Roger Dean Stadium. Jupiter took game one 3-1 and followed with a 6-5 win in the nightcap.
Starter Wade Korpi (ND) allowed only one hit and struck out three over four innings to give Jupiter a solid spot-start. Jupiter scored two runs in the third inning off of Santos Arias (6-3) to sink Fort Myers in game one. Gregory Burns and Brandon Tripp each had an RBI double, while second baseman Danny Garcia added an insurance run in the sixth inning with a sacrifice fly. Cory Madden (1-0) pitched two innings in relief to pick up his first win of 2009. Kyle Gunderson pitched a scoreless ninth to record his 14th save.
Jupiter rallied for a run in the sixth inning off of Henry Arias (4-5) to break the 5-5 tie to complete the series sweep of Fort Myers. Jeremy Synan drove in the winning run. Shortstop Osvaldo Martinez was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs (45). Geraldo Valentin also had a good game and was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Peter Andrelczyk (2-1) picked up his second win in relief for the Hammerheads.
Jupiter finished the 2009 season with an overall record of 67-70. The Hammerheads and Roger Dean Stadium would like to thanks the fans for a great season!
