The Hamilton Sports Group, in partnership with Dempster's, is excited to announce a Thanksgiving event that will bring joy and nourishment to the local community. On Monday, October 2, families from the Good Shepherd Family Centre will gather at Tim Hortons Field for a special Thanksgiving meal.
"Giving back to our community is incredibly important to our organization, especially when that involves giving to individuals who need our support." Said Courtney Stephen, Director of Community Partnerships, "The Hamilton Sports Group would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners at Dempster's, Sodexo Live! and the City of Hamilton for their support in providing the necessary services and facilities to make this event possible. Their dedication to our community exemplifies the collaborative spirit that Hamilton is known for, and we are grateful for their partnership."
Dempster's®, Canada's leading bakery of sliced bread, and Sodexo Live! have generously donated the food needed to serve this feast. The event promises to provide a warm and memorable Thanksgiving experience for those in need as we break bread together at Tim Hortons Field.
"Thanksgiving is a time to come together, express gratitude, and share blessings with others," said Tania Goecke, Vice President, Marketing at Bimbo Canada. "Dempster's is proud to partner with Hamilton Sports Group to give back to the community where we live and work to ensure that families from the Good Shepherd Family Centre can enjoy a delicious meal and create lasting memories at Tim Hortons Field."
The festivities will go beyond just a meal. Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Forge FC players will be present alongside volunteers from Dempster's to serve the Thanksgiving dinner. After the meal, the families in attendance will have the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking atmosphere of Tim Hortons Field, soak in the sporting spirit, and join their favourite players for some fun activities set up on the field. It's a day filled with gratitude, excitement, and a sense of community that embodies the true spirit of Thanksgiving.
As an additional treat, families attending the Thanksgiving event will receive tickets to return to Tim Hortons Field for the final Forge FC and Hamilton Tiger-Cats home games of the season on Saturday, October 7, and Friday, October 13, courtesy of Dempster's. This gesture is part of the commitment to creating lasting connections and unforgettable experiences for those who attend.
