(Clearwater, Fla.) - Phillies' RHP Cole Hamels made a start for the Triple-A Spring Training squad on Monday - but that wasn't enough to halt the team's losing streak, which extended to five with an 11-5 loss to the Yankees' team at Carpenter Complex.

Hamels, the 2008 World Series MVP who is rehabbing an inflamed left elbow, lasted four innings and allowed 10 hits and three earned runs while walking one and fanning five. He was the losing pitcher in his second minor league appearance since he had an anti-inflammatory injection into his left elbow on March 17.

Entering down 3-0 after four, RHP Justin Lehr (3.0 ip, 6 h, 4 r, 2 er, 2 bb, 3 k) went two scoreless innings before allowing four runs (two earned) in the seventh. Although, the Phillies' team answered with four runs in the bottom of that frame, four more Yankees runs in the ninth inning off LHP Antonio Bastardo increased the lead back to seven. Bastardo, fighting for a Triple-A job, went one inning, allowing five hits and four runs while walking one and fanning one. LHP Jake Woods (1.0 ip, 1 h) was the only pitcher unscored upon, working an efficient eighth inning. The pitchers combined to allow 22 hits in the contest.

Offensively, all 10 players that appeared in the lineup collected at least one hit, as the team finished with 12 for the day. SS Jason Donald (2-4, BB) and 3B Mike Cervenak (2-4, R) led the way with the club's only two multiple-hits games. RF Jeremy Slayden (1-4, 2B, R) paced the offense with a pair of RBI. 1B Andy Tracy (1-4) also added double.

The Phillies' squad is now 0-3 against the Yankees' Triple-A team this exhibition season after the IronPigs went just 2-14 against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in 2008.

The Phillies' Triple-A Spring Training team (4-7) will again attempt to defeat the Yankees on Tuesday, when it travels to Tampa for 1:00 p.m.
