Each of the 26 teams in the NAHL's four divisions (Central, East, Midwest and South) will play 60 regular season games. The regular season will commence on September 13, 2019 and end on April 4, 2020.

2019-20 NAHL Divisional Alignment:

South Division (7): New Mexico Ice Wolves, Amarillo Bulls, Corpus Christi IceRays, Lone Star Brahmas, Odessa Jackalopes, Shreveport Mudbugs, Topeka Pilots

Central Division (6): Aberdeen Wings, Austin Bruins, Bismarck Bobcats, Minnesota Wilderness, Minot Minotauros, St. Cloud Blizzard

East Division (7): Jamestown Rebels, Johnstown Tomahawks, Maine Nordiques, Maryland Black Bears, New Jersey Titans, Northeast Generals, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights

Midwest Division (6): Chippewa Steel, Fairbanks Ice Dogs, Janesville Jets, Kenai River Brown Bears, Minnesota Magicians, Springfield Jr. Blues

The NM Ice Wolves are continuing their preparation for the season with all players having recently reported for training camp in late August. Before the start of home games the NM Ice Wolves will take part in the 17th annual NAHL Showcase Tournament from September 18-21, 2019 at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. All 26 NAHL teams will play four regular-season games at the Showcase, which is one of hockey's most prominent and popular events of the entire season. For scouting purposes, the event is a yearly gathering for every NCAA program and NHL team as they get their first look at some of the best and brightest hockey talent North America has to offer. Celebrating its 45th season in 2019-2020 the NAHL is the oldest and largest junior hockey league of its kind in the U.S. and one of only two USA Hockey-certified leagues that operate under the non pay-to-play model. The NAHL is also one of the best in the world at advancing players to the NCAA and professional hockey.

All NM Ice Wolves players stay with host families in the community who have opened their homes to members of the team. While all players are currently accounted for with the Host Family Program, the team is interested in hearing from additional families in Albuquerque with a bit of extra room in their hearts and homes for this season or next. NAHL Junior hockey cannot exist without the backbone of strong host families. Every season, young men between 16 and 20 years old will be moving to Albuquerque from all over the US, Canada and Europe to play for the NM Ice Wolves and continue building on their dream of playing NCAA Division I hockey and beyond. Host families provide a caring, supportive, family environment that becomes the "home away from home" for players. Hosting a player can be an exciting and rewarding experience that often leads to lifelong friendships between the player and his host family. Host families who have been a part of NAHL junior hockey played an essential role in the recent news that the for the third straight season the NAHL had more than 300 NCAA commitments in a single season. In 2019 the NAHL once again set a new single-season record as 335 players were committed to an NCAA school during the 2018-19 season with 224 of those commitments to NCAA Division I schools. With the age range of 16-20 years old some players are still in high school while others are encouraged by the team to take college prep courses and work part time jobs.

Since joining the NAHL this past February the New Mexico Ice Wolves have been full steam ahead in preparation for their inaugural season including assembling a strong coaching staff, completely renovating the Outpost Ice Arenas© and making player selections through tenders, the NAHL draft and on ice tryout camps. The NM Ice Wolves are led by Head Coach and GM Phil Fox who is joined by Assistant General Manager and Associate Head Coach Keenan Kelly and Assistant Coaches Kyle Follmer, Ben Danford and Elliott Hogue.
