Half Day Camp for 6-7 Year Olds Announced

The Utica Comets Hockey Club is excited to be holding its first half day 6-7yr. Utica Comets' Summer Hockey School. Players will have the opportunity to skate at the same arena as the hometown Utica Comets. Featuring a total of 5 hours of on-ice instruction, 5 hours of off-ice activities, and 4 hours of chalk talk the Utica Comets hockey camp present a positive and fun environment in which to learn and improve upon your skill set prior to the upcoming season.

Date: August 11th - 15th

Time: 8:00-12:00 pm

Location: Utica Memorial Auditorium, Home of the Utica Comets

Price:

Half-Day Camp $325.00 per camper. Early Bird Special (registered before July 15th) $300.00 per camper. More than one camper in the family $300.00 per camper.

The cost of registration covers the following:

On-ice Instruction (5 Hours)

Ice sessions will emphasize power skating, puck skills, shooting, and passing. Flow drills, individual station work, small area scrimmages, and a wide array of fun games will be incorporated into on-ice sessions.

Off-Ice Activities (5 Hours)

Players will have full-access to the Utica Comets weight room and training facilities. Additionally, off-ice activities will include road hockey, yoga, soccer, and plyometric and agility work-outs, on top of many more fun and beneficial activities.

Class Chalk Talk (5 Hours)

Tactical classroom session will reinforce the X's and O's of hockey. Players will also be given an in depth tour of the Comet's facilities as well as an autograph and photo meet and greet with former and current professional hockey players.

Players will also be presented with:

Instruction from current and former Utica Comets along with other local professional hockey players. A Utica Comets Authentic Reebok practice jersey. An official Comets Summer Hockey Camp shirt (dry-fit). 2 tickets to a 2014-15 regular season Comets hockey game *(excluding opening weekend) Unique awards and raffle prizes, including a chance at winning a game-worn Comets jersey. Lunch and snacks included (please see registration for details).

Sample Day

7:30am: Arrive at the Utica Memorial Auditorium

8:00-9:00am - On-ice

9:15-9:45am - Undress and pick up snack

9:45-11:00am: - Off-ice activity

11:10-12:00 - Chalk talk

12:15: Player pickup

Age Groups:

All hockey players ranging from 6-7 years old

Registration:

Please register with the 7-14 year old full day camp and indicate that you will be participating in the half day 6-7 year old camp.
