Hale Earns Pitcher of the Week Nod
June 4, 2018 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Ottawa Champions News Release
OTTAWA - After two solid starts, Champions RHP JAKE HALE has turned heads around the Can-Am League. He now has some hardware to his name - with the league awarding Hale the title of Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 27 to June 3.
Hale, who also occupies the pitching coach position on Ottawa's roster, has registered wins in back-to-back starts. In his three appearances this season, he's mustered a pristine ERA of 0.49, while striking out 12 and only allowing 10 hits in his 18.1 innings pitched.
The first-year member of the Champions tossed a gem on Wednesday at the New Jersey Jackals. Over 7.1 shutout innings, Hale scattered four hits and did not walk a batter. He struck out six Jackals en route to earning his second victory of the season, as Ottawa won the game 9-1.
The Champions will open a home series against the Quebec Capitales on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. Like all Can-Am League games, the series can be seen live and for free at www.canamleague.tv, or over the air on CKDJ 107.9.
