Gwinnett's Haddad Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Joey Haddad of the Gwinnett Gladiators is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 24-March 2.

Haddad scored four goals and added four assists for eight points as the Gladiators went 3-1-0 last week.

The 25-year-old scored a shorthanded goal in a 4-1 win against Evansville on Tuesday, tallied three points (1g-2a) in a 4-2 victory over Florida on Friday, had a goal and an assist in a 5-4 win against the Everblades on Saturday and ended the week with a goal in a 5-3 loss against Florida on Sunday.

A native of Sydney, Nova Scotia, Haddad leads the Gladiators this season with 31 points (13g-18a) in 50 games and is currently riding a five-game goal streak.

Haddad has tallied 162 points (77g-85a) in 218 career ECHL games with Gwinnett and Wheeling and has added 11 points (3g-8a) in 64 career American Hockey League games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Bridgeport and Hamilton.

On behalf of Joey Haddad, a case of pucks will be donated to a Gwinnett youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 29,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
