Gwinnett Stripers News Release
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - With the final game of the 2012 season fast approaching, the Gwinnett Braves have released details on Fan Appreciation Night, set for Thursday, August 30 at 7:05 PM. The first 2,000 fans entering that night's game against Pawtucket will receive a Gwinnett Braves replica jersey sponsored by Coolray Heating and Cooling.
The jerseys will feature photos of over 300 fans selected via Facebook promotion earlier this season. Selected fans will have their Facebook profile pictures embedded in the jersey number on the back. Fans won't know if they've been selected to be on the jersey until they receive it on Thursday night.
The night also features many game elements voted on by fans via Facebook throughout the year. Fans have already voted on the following for August 30:
* The G-Braves will wear their alternate blue jerseys.
* Chopper will enter Coolray Field carried like an Egyptian king and will be dressed in his tuxedo.
* In-game music will be exclusively rock music.
* The design for all video board features will be "retro."
* The food special will be a footlong ballpark hot dog, available at Georgia 44 for $4.50 ($1.50 less than the normal price).
* There will be an extra t-shirt toss as part of the night's festivities.
There's one element still up for fan vote via the Gwinnett Braves Facebook page. Fans will vote for which game experience they would most like to take part in, either a live radio interview, handling the public address for an inning, throwing out the first pitch or serving as the Honorary manager. One winner will be selected to take part in the experience that has the most votes.
Fan Appreciation Night also features many additional elements geared toward social media. The first 50 people to write down their Twitter handle and drop it off at Customer Service will be followed by the Gwinnett Braves' official Twitter account. One lucky winner will receive a Twitter themed prize pack. The first person to tweet their seat location when prompted will receive a seat upgrade. Finally, G-Braves' media assistant Tony Piraro will do a live interview with a player based on fan questions asked via Twitter.
Please note that game times for all remaining Gwinnett Braves home games, including Fan Appreciation Night on August 30, may change due to Hurricane Isaac.
