GLENS FALLS, NY -- Derek Gustafson stopped all 10 shots he faced to earn his second shutout of the season, as the Adirondack Frostbite defeated the Roanoke Valley Vipers 2-0 on Wednesday in front of 2,457 fans at the Glens Falls Civic Center. With the win, the Frostbite improve to 10-0-0 against the Vipers this season, and are now within five points of Danbury for first place in the Eastern Division.

Greg Koehler put the Frostbite on the scoreboard with a power-play goal 16:11 into the opening period. Koehler took a pass from Kevin Watters in the left-wing circle, skated to the hash marks, and wristed a shot over the left shoulder of goaltender Shawn Conschafter for his 11th goal of the season.

It remained 1-0 until the 16:19 mark of the final period. Conschafter made the save on Scott Drevitch's shot from the right-wing circle, but the rebound came to Ryan Bennett on the near post, and he swept the puck into the open net for his 18th of the season. The goal extended Bennett's scoring streak to seven games, and now gives him 16 goals in the Frostbite's last 17 games.

That was more than enough for Gustafson, who faced four shots in both the first and third period, and just two in the second, to earn his 22nd win of the season.

Adirondack opens a four-game road trip on Friday in Fraser, MI against the Motor City Mechanics. Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m., with all of the action on WCKM 98.5 starting with the pre-game show at 7:10.

The Frostbite return home on Sunday, March 26, hosting the Richmond RiverDogs at 5:15 p.m. It's another Family Four Pack Night, with four tickets, four slices of pizza, and four sodas just $50. Tickets are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office, or by calling (518) 798-0202.
