Gunther and Dukes added to Burn roster

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise Burn announced today that offensive lineman Kyle Gunther and defensive back Mitchell Dukes have been added to the roster as the team makes a push for the arenafootball2 playoffs.

Gunther, 6-4 and 310-pounds, spent the last six weeks with the AFL's Utah Blaze before being released after Utah's playoff loss to Colorado. Gunther spent five years (2003-07) with the University of Utah; redshirted in 2003, and in one of seven games played in 2004, took part in a season high 14 offensive players against UNLV. After playing in just three games in 2005, Gunther started his junior and senior years at center for the Utes in 2006 and 2007.

Dukes, 6-0 and 195-pounds, played with Western Carolina from 2003-06 and was a starter in his junior and senior years. In 2006, Dukes led the team with three interceptions and had 60 tackles including three break ups. In 2005, as a junior, he recorded a team high 6.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss as a safety.

He's recorded a career 142 tackles (11 TFL), 7.5 sacks and 10 break ups and a forced fumble. Dukes spent three weeks during 2007 with the AFL's Columbus Destroyers and this season signed with first-ranked af2 Spokane Shock. He was released last week having not played in a game.
