BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington PrairieThunder coach Jarrod Skalde and former team captain Tyler Rennette will make their return to the ice Saturday in the fourth annual Guns n' Hoses hockey game, pitting members of the Bloomington police department against their counterparts at the Bloomington fire department.

The game, which begins at 3 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, benefits the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. It's also part of a fundraising night with the Bloomington PrairieThunder hockey team.

Tickets purchased for game will include admission to both the Guns n' Hoses event and PrairieThunder hockey game, which begins at 7:05 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Bloomington Police Department, 305 S. East St., Bloomington, any Bloomington Fire Department location or Special Olympics Illinois office, 605 E. Willow St., Normal, along with the U.S. Cellular Coliseum box office.

Skalde will play for the police department, while Rennette will skate with the fire department. Rennette was the captain, leading scorer and team MVP during the franchise's first season in 2006-07.

"Tyler and I can't wait to get back on the ice and show these guys a thing or two," said Skalde. "It should be a fun time for a worthwhile cause."

The firefighters won the public safety face-off last year. In the last two years, the even has raised nearly $13,000 for Special Olympics Illinois.

PrairieThunder players also will be wearing special jerseys featuring the Guns n' Hoses, Torch Run and Special Olympics logos in their game against the Quad City Mallards. The jerseys will be auctioned off following the game with all net proceeds going to the Torch Run's fundraising efforts for Special Olympics Illinois.

Special Olympics athletes from the Pekin area will demonstrate their figure skating and speed skating skills between the first and second periods of the PrairieThunder game.

In addition, the PrairieThunder will donate a portion of each $12 ticket sold to Special Olympics Illinois. For more information, call Officer Todd Keil at 309-434-2700, or Special Olympics Illinois at 309-888-2551, and mention Guns n' Hoses.
