Tennessee Valley Raptors News Release
HUNTSVILLE â United Indoor Football announced Wednesday that Tennessee Valley Raptors quarterback Chris Gunn had been named its Offensive Player of the Week.
Gunn, a former Alabama A&M and UNA standout making his second start of the season, completed 11 of 15 passes for 134 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions in the Raptors' 29-22 home victory over Evansville last Saturday.
"Chris Gunn's numbers weren't huge, but he was playing hurt late in the game and showed a lot of courage and poise out there,'' Raptors coach Dick Adams said. "He's just getting better and better."
Gunn has now completed 29 of 54 passes for 321 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions through five games with Tennessee Valley. He has also rushed for 23 times for 162 yards and five touchdowns.
Tennessee Valley (3-6) returns to action Saturday night against the Ohio Valley Greyhounds at the VBC. Kickoff is set for 7:30 and the first 1,500 fans 18 and under will receive an Andy Fuller bobblehead compliments of Hometown Lenders.
