
Guevara And Wynne Headed For National Team Duty

Toronto FC announced Monday that midfielder Amado Guevara and defender Marvell Wynne have been named to their respective final rosters for the upcoming FIFA 2010 World Cup Qualifiers. Guevara (Honduras) and Wynne (U.S.) will both depart for their respective camps right after Toronto FC's game with the Houston Dynamo in Houston on Saturday, May 30.
The U.S. MNT will play two qualifiers; their first one on Wednesday, June 3 in San Jose against hosts Costa Rica. The Americans sit atop the final group with seven points after two wins and a draw. Their second game will be played in Chicago on Saturday, June 6 against Honduras as the Toronto FC teammates will get a chance to face each other. Honduras will play their second qualifier on Wednesday, June 10 on home turf as they welcome El Salvador. Honduras currently sits third in the group with a total of four points after a win, loss and draw.
Both Guevara and Wynne will return to club duty after their final match for their respective countries. Guevara was involved in all three qualifiers in this round and played a full 90 minutes in each. This will be Wynne's second appearance with the MNT in this round; his last call up was February 11, 2009 for the match against Mexico where he did see any action.
