
Guerrero, Grizzlies drop 8-2 contest to Quakes

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies (52-32, 11-7) stumbled to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (44-40, 8-10) 8-2 Thursday evening from LoanMart Field. Fresno dropped to 10-5 against Rancho Cucamonga over the last two seasons and 7-8 in the third game of a series this year.
Rancho Cucamonga's offense supplied 11 hits with six of them landing for extra-bases. Of those six extra-base hits, four of them ended in runs. Jake Vogel launched his first homer of the season in the third, a three-run missile to left-center field. Damon Keith crushed his 11th clout of 2022, a two-run longball in the fifth. Luis Diaz smashed the third Quakes wallop of the night, a two-run shot in the sixth. Keith concluded the extra-base hits in the eighth with a double to left-center, adding Kenneth Betancourt.
Fresno's lineup scattered eight hits with two going for doubles. Juan Guerrero notched both RBI, a double in the sixth and a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Juan Brito mustered both runs after reaching via double and walk. Adael Amador tallied a pair of hits, both rocket singles. Yanquiel Fernandez, AJ Lewis and birthday man Yorvis Torrealba each laced a hit for the Grizzlies.
Quakes starter Joel Ibarra hurled two scoreless innings in his first appearance with the squad. Jerming Rosario (3-6) followed Ibarra with four and one-third frames of one-run ball. He earned the win in an efficient relief outing. Grizzlies' righty McCade Brown (2-4) suffered the loss after five innings of work. He fanned seven and issued only one walk. The clubs are back to battle tomorrow evening from LoanMart Field.
