(BUFFALO, NY)- Buffalo Destroyers head coach Ron Selesky continues to re-shape the Destroyers roster this week as he signed WR/LB Mike Guazzo and QB Tim Carey. Selesky also traded K Brian Schmitz.

Guazzo (6-3, 245) played for Selesky last season with the af2's Albany Conquest. He was a two-time Ironman of the Game and one-time ADT Defensive Player of the Game in 2002 and finished 3rd on the team with 48 catches for 495 yards and eight touchdowns. He also was the team's 3rd leading tackler with 52 stops. Guazzo originally was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as a free agent before the start of the 2001 season. He was a four-year letterman at Boston College finishing his career with the Eagles totaling 31 receptions for 372 yards.

Carey (6-4, 210) spent the last two seasons as a backup QB with the Chicago Rush. He appeared in two games for the Rush in 2002 completing 11 of 20 passes for 85 yards and one touchdown. He played for the New England Sea Wolves in 2000 and was 133 of 226 for 1,795 yards and 33 touchdowns. Carey threw his first career touchdown pass vs. Buffalo on May 26, 2000. Carey spent three years at Stanford before transferring to the University of Hawaii his senior season.

"I'm excited to bring Mike and Tim to Buffalo," said Selesky. "Mike played well for me last year in Albany and Tim will come in and give us great competition at the quarterback spot."

Schmitz, who was acquired by Buffalo last month in a trade with Carolina, was sent to the Orlando Predators for future considerations.
